CMU named 'military-friendly university'
For the sixth consecutive year, Central Michigan University is ranked as a “military-friendly college or university” by Military Advanced Education. More than 300 U.S. institutions were evaluated in four military-friendly categories including support, affordability, military culture and flexibility.

“This is another example of our ongoing commitment and rich history of making military personnel, veterans and their families a top priority,” says Steve Rellinger, director of CMU’s Veterans’ Resource Center. “Through global operations we have 40 years of history working with the military.”

There are more than 155 flag officers with CMU degrees across all branches of military service. CMU has consistently been a leader in serving America’s military with more than 400 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programs. CMU currently plays a role in the education of 1,062 veterans, including 831 global campus students and 231 on-campus students.

“When it comes to educating the military, CMU delivers,” said Michael Nunnally, CMU’s manager of U.S. military programs.

Nunnally says CMU’s commitment to the military includes awarding degrees valuable in the job market with affordable tuition rates and courses available on campus, at military bases from the Atlantic Coast to Hawaii, and online.

Military Advanced Education’s 2013 Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities is a “student centric” reference helping service members align colleges and universities with their own educational and career goals.
