University Theatre presents "The Cherry Orchard"

Classic play by Anton Chekhov tells story of one family's struggle in times of turmoil

University Theatre will present “The Cherry Orchard,” a classic play by Anton Chekhov, at 7:30 p.m. April 2 through 5 and 2 p.m. April 6 in Moore Hall’s Bush Theatre. 

The play tells the story of an aristocratic family whose historic estate and picturesque orchard are to be auctioned off to settle their debts.

“‘The Cherry Orchard’ is a modern classic by Anton Chekhov and features some really fine student actors,” Director Timothy Connors said. “It explores the dynamics of such pertinent issues as love, privilege and class, in times of radical social change.”

Advance purchase tickets are $7 for students and seniors and $9 for the general public or $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticket Central or by calling 989-774-3045.
