Opus 2013
Opus XVI will return to Central Michigan University's campus on April 6. The School of Music’s annual collage concert, featuring CMU’s finest musical talent, raises funds for scholarships, equipment and travel for music students. The gala event begins at 6 p.m. in CMU’s Music Building.

Opus XVI will showcase a vast array of musical styles from students who auditioned for a spot in the program. Students prepare and practice for the premiere musical event months in advance and compete amongst the best.

“CMU is pleased to share the talent of our student musicians with the mid-Michigan community,” said Elizabeth Ross, CMU’s first lady and Opus XVI chairwoman. “We are proud of our students' tremendous accomplishments and look forward to an elegant evening filled with stellar musical entertainment.”

The black tie optional evening includes a strolling reception catered by Soaring Eagle Resort and a cash bar beginning at 6 p.m. followed by the collage concert at 8 p.m. Dessert and coffee with the featured student musicians will conclude the evening.

Tickets for Opus XVI are $125, which includes a $75 tax-deductible contribution. Individual tickets may be purchased by calling 989-774-1885, and corporate and group sponsorships may be arranged by calling Christine Alwood in CMU’s Development and Alumni Relations office at 989-774-7155.
